CHICOPEE ELECTRIC LIGHT SCHOLARSHIP

Applications forms are available during regular business hours at the CEL office at 725 Front St.  The student selected will be known as a Cadet Engineer.  This award will consist of a maximum of $28,000 for a period of 4 years plus an opportunity to work at CEL during vacations, receiving paid “On the Job Training”

WASTE MANAGEMENT RECYCLE AMERICA ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOLARSHIP

This award is based on a combination of academic merit and evidence of being an Environmental Steward within the community.  Must be a graduating senior with a MRF contracted Municipality, intend to major within an Environmental field of study and must be accepted as an undergraduate at an accredited college.

ALLAN E. SITTARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

This award will be given to a Chicopee resident who is a graduating senior from Chicopee Public Schools.  The applicant must be an active member of a music, chorus or band program and demonstrate continuance of some aspect of music in college.

PHILIP J. FARRELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

To be eligible for this scholarship you must participate in the Big I Junior Classic golf tournament.  Qualified applicants will each have the opportunity to be awarded a $1000 scholarship.

CHICOPEE SAVINGS BANK CHARITABLE FOUNDATION 2008 SCHOLARSHIP

Applicant must be a graduating senior from CHS or CCHS must also be a current resident of Chicopee.  Student must be entering into a degree program upon graduation to an accredited college or technical school.

2008 FUTURE ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is posted on the web-site of Boston Chapter of ASHRAE @ www.ashraeboston.org.  Students need to be a Massachusetts resident or attend a college in the state of Massachusetts.  This scholarship will be awarded to 14 students in the amount of $2000 each.

FATHER ROBERT F. WAGNER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Student must be a resident of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin or Berkshire County.  Must be attending an accredited college or university.  Demonstrate either an intention to pursue a degree and a career dedicated to serving persons with disabilities, or be a person with a disability seeking to further his or her education.

PAST COUNTY COMMANDER’S / POZZO FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

The American Legion-Hampden County Council is offering a scholarship to any student that has a relative who is a current paid-up member.  Must submit a photo copy of the Legionnaire’s membership card for the current year.

ROBERT J. WATSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility requirements for this scholarship are that you must demonstrate need and that you also participated in a Title I funded targeted assistance or a school wide program for at least one academic year, at any grade level.  You may have also taken part of a program administered in a local/state-operated facility for neglected or delinquent children.

MASSACHUSETTS RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION

Eligible candidates must be accepted to an accredited restaurant or foodservice related post secondary program.  Submit a recent transcript with cumulative GPA.  Must have work experience in a restaurant/foodservice with a minimum of 250 hours of work experience.  A letter of recommendation on letterhead dated within the last six months form a current/pervious employer in the restaurant or foodservice industry.

THE JEWISH ENDOWMENT FOUNDATION

This scholarship is open for students who live in the following cities or towns:  Springfield, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Hampden, Agawam or West Springfield regardless of race, religion or gender.  In addition there is 4 additional scholarships.  These are available to Jewish students residing in the Greater Springfield area ( please see scholarship descriptions for additional restrictions).

2008 SZLATS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

You must be a graduating senior who has applied to further your education, participated in the Chicopee Girls Suburban Basketball program for a minimum of 2 yrs, volunteered at the Szlats tournament at least 2 of the 4 yrs of high school, also must submit a competed scholarship application along with an official high school transcript which includes second quarter grades.

ABBOTT & FENNER

$1000 Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution.  To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay on one of the two topics listed.  Your submissions must be sent to them by e-mail at scholarship@abbottandfenner.com Topics to choose from are:  Discuss in less than 1000 words, what you consider to be the single most important  societal problem? And why? Or how has your education contributed to who you are today or how will it affect who you will become?  In less than 1000 words, discuss these questions.

AES CONSULTANTS SCHOLARSHIP

Students are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to one of the two questions that are posted on their web site at www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm   The amount of scholarship is $500.00
