Vision Statement

 

  • Continuing Education for the Chicopee School District will continue to function as an accountability-based system of high quality education that prepares students for a specific career and/or provides additional opportunities such as the Arts for lifelong learning.
  • All Chicopee School District Continuing Education students will continue to have this additional opportunity to be equipped with the academic, technical and employability skills necessary to succeed in a dynamic, global workplace and/or further education and training.
  • All citizens of Chicopee and surrounding local communities continue to view the Chicopee Continuing Education program as an investment in local economies.
  • All students enrolled in Career and Technical Education in Chicopee will be able to take related courses (Such as Welding, ServSafe or Journeyman Electrical Code Courses) gratis as long as they are enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program.

 

Mission Statement

 

  • To continue to ensure that all interested students are given the access and opportunity to succeed in a high-quality Continuing Education program
  • To continue to promote high standards of academic achievement and technical employability skills needed to produce work of the highest quality
  • To continue to ensure that all students have the opportunity to engage in coursework which supports personal lifelong learning goals
  • To ensure that all Chicopee residents have the opportunity to pursue offerings in the Arts

 

Following are program goals for the 2008/2009 Continuing Education program:

 

  1. To increase community input into the Continuing Education program for the 2008/2009 school year
  2. To continue to review previous years’ data to help make informed decisions on program offerings as well as scheduling
  3. To continue to increase enrollments
  4. To diversify course offerings by complementing existing courses and offering new courses
  5. To review pricing structure, especially as it relates to consumables such as steel, sheet metal, gases, etc. along with contractual obligations in order to make recommendations based on the review
  6. To continue to work closely with the Director for Career and Technical Education and the high school principals.
