As Schools
Match Wits

Advisor:
Mr. Zdroykowski
Purpose:
The "As
Schools' Match Wits" Program had aired on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. on
WWLP, Channel 22, for over forty years. However, the show has now
been picked up by WGBY, Channel 57 and will begin production at
Westfield State College in January 2007. Air times will be
announced.
Area high
schools compete on the quiz show each with one team of four and an
alternate. The teams select from school curriculum and trivia
categories and the team with the most correct answers/points wins.
Once a school has achieved three consecutive victories, they are
retired until the playoffs, usually held in May and June. If a
school loses, they are automatically eliminated until the next year.
Students not
selected by the advisors are still invited to attend the taping of
the show in preparation for future participation.
Meeting
Times:
Wednesday after
school. More as show taping approaches.
Dues/Fees:
None
Season:
The entire
school year. Varies (depends on the ASMW schedule issued by WGBY
Channel 57). Students must regularly attend meetings to qualify to
be on any of the teams.
