Key Club's Purpose:

The Key Club is a service, leadership organization for high school students operating under school regulations and drawing its membership from the student body.  The Key Club's objective is the development of initiative, leadership ability, and good citizenship practices.

Background Information:

Kiwanis is an organization of service and community-minded individuals who support children and young adults.  This is accomplished by working with high school students through Key Clubs.

Key Club is an international student-led organization, which provides its members with opportunities to provide service to the community, build character, and develop leadership. 

Meeting Times:    

Every other Tuesday after school.

Dues/Fees:          

     Annual dues of $10 must be paid by October 31; also, a minimum requirement of 50 hours of community service must be completed by the end of April each year.

Season:                September through May.

Event and Activities:

  • Collect aluminum can tabs for Shriners Hospital.  Last school year we donated 52 lbs. of tabs.  These are recycled to purchase medical equipment and supplies for the hospital.

  • Donations to Friends of the Library, Jimmy Stuff the Stocking, and Molly Bish Foundation.
  • Kiwanis & Key Club Child Safety Day.
  • Volunteer at school vacation park and recreational camps.
  • Volunteer at Knights of Columbus, Elder Council 69
    • Monthly spaghetti suppers which benefit:  friends of the seniors, friends of the library, Special Olympics, Molly Bish Foundation, Chicopee Soup Kitchen, Chicopee St. Pats Parade Committee, and Chicopee Catholic Schools

    • Annual Veteran's Day Lunch

  • Key Club students also volunteer throughout the community outside of the club at nursing homes, church, and many other youth/community events.
  • February and April vacation camps for kids at Chuckie Cheese.  
  • Bowling and baby-sit.
  • The Chicopee Parks and Recreation Easter Egg Hunt.
  • Safe Halloween Trick-or-Treat Parties for kids.
  • Car washes to raise money for upcoming events or foundations.
  • Christmas Caroling
